Brenda Colleen Haney, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on August 26, 1960, Brenda's nurturing spirit was evident throughout her life, both in her personal relationships and her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She dedicated herself to the care of others, embodying compassion and dedication with every patient she encountered.
Brenda's love for her family was unwavering. She was a great cook, taking joy in preparing meals for her family to share together. Those who sat at her dinner table often remarked on how she could create an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness with her delicious cooking and warm conversation. Family gatherings, where smiles and laughter abounded, were the heart of her world; she cherished these moments deeply and strived to make them memorable.
Her proudest accomplishments included the love and joy she received from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the cherished times spent spoiling them. Brenda was blessed with a legacy that will continue to thrive through her loved ones.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Nicole Byington, grandchildren Spring Janee Haney Byington, Kimo Chebon Presock, and Steven WahKu Presock; her great-grandsons Hakeem Prince Davis, Ohitika Travon Phillips and Vonni Oche Phillips; siblings Lawrence Haney, Reginald Haney, Daniel and Keri Castillo, Lori Haney, Kimberly Haney, and Jerry Keith. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including Anthony Tiger, Tyler Tiger, Joseph Tiger, Tierra Condulle, Rhiannon Condulle, Micco Haney, Colin Castillo, Taylor Castillo, Justin Castillo, Kyia Castillo, Jordon Montoya, Angel Montoya, River Montoya and Aileah Montoya, all of whom carry her memory in their hearts.
She joins in eternity her beloved maternal grandparents Frank Big Walker Davis and Rose Boyd, paternal grandparents Willie Haney and Winey Johnson Haney, as well as her sister Florence Haney, brother Warren Haney Jr., sister Annette Haney and sister Valerie Haney.
Brenda had many interests outside of family gatherings, including a deep appreciation for music; Janis Joplin was her favorite artist, and she often found joy in the melodies that filled her home. Her vibrant personality and love for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held in her honor on January 22, 2026, at the First Indian Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow the next day, January 23, 2026, at the same location, beginning at 10:00 AM.
Brenda Colleen Haney's life was a testament to the power of love and family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
