Billy Dale Lawerance

Billy Dale Lawerance, a beloved member of the Shawnee community, passed away on November 26, 2025, in Norman, Oklahoma. Born on August 5, 1950, in Geary, Oklahoma, Billy was a devoted family man, a steadfast friend, and a hardworking individual who left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Billy dedicated 34 years of his life working at Dayton Tires, where he was respected and admired by colleagues for his unwavering commitment to his job. His work ethic exemplified his personality; he was a man who loved to stay busy, always involved in activities, even after retirement. He found joy in working on cars, doing yard work, and spending quality time watching movies or cheering on the University of Oklahoma football team during his downtime.

A proud veteran, Billy served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974, where he carried out various jobs within the maintenance career field. After completing his service, he directed that same discipline and dedication towards his family and community.

Billy was a devoted member of Central Church of Christ for over 30 years, representing his faith with sincerity and conviction as a devout Christian. His involvement in the church was a testament to the strength of his character and the values he upheld.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Billy's legacy is nurtured by his family. He is survived by his sons, Jeffery Lawerance and Billy Lawerance; his daughter-in-law, Sarah Lawerance; and his granddaughter, Kate Lawerance. He also leaves behind his sister, Donna Grier. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Diane Lawerance, and his parents, Billy and June Lawerance.

The community is invited to pay their respects at the viewing sessions on December 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and December 4, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, both to be held at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 201 E 45th St, Shawnee, OK 74804. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Walker Funeral Chapel. Following the ceremony, Billy will be laid to rest next to his wife at Fairview Cemetery.

Billy Dale Lawerance will be remembered not only for his contributions in life but also for the love he shared with his family and friends. His spirit and dedication to those he cared about will continue to inspire all who knew him.
