Betty Jo Terrell-Webb, a devoted caregiver and beloved member of her community, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 93 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Born on April 19, 1932, in Prague, Oklahoma to Jim and Clara Pospisil, Betty Jo was a shining example of warmth, kindness, and hard work throughout her life.
Betty Jo’s journey began in Prague, where she attended local schools and graduated from Centerview High School. She was an active participant in sports, showcasing her talent in basketball and softball. After completing her education, she married the love of her life, Barrett Terrell, in 1950. Their relationship started in high school and continued to flourish until Barrett’s passing in 1993, marking a profound chapter in her life.
While Betty Jo briefly worked in the meat packing industry, her primary dedication was to her family as a homemaker. She embraced her role with a servant’s heart, passionate about creating a nurturing environment for her children and supporting their endeavors. This dedication extended beyond her immediate family; she was a dedicated member of the Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she worked with tiny tots, VBS Director for many years sharing her love and compassion with many young lives.
In addition to her commitments at home and church, Betty Jo pursued various hobbies that brought her joy, such as bowling, playing cards, crocheting, and engaging in yard work. She found delight in growing and selling huge watermelons and cantaloupes grown by the Terrell Family, bringing a taste of their labor to the community. Betty Jo also had a deep appreciation for gospel music, especially the sounds of the Gaither Vocal Band.
Betty Jo's family, who cherished her deeply, includes her daughter Connie Greenlee and her husband Lonnie, her son Darrell Conrad Terrell and his wife Lyn, along with her grandchildren: Chad Greenlee and his wife Stephanie, Cambor Rich and her husband Jeramy, Robyn Kipps, Brent Terrell and his wife Ary, and Rett Terrell. She was a proud great-grandmother to Emma, Colton, Abby, Gunnar, Mattie, Eli, Ethan, Tristan, Ian, Knox, Brolin, Israel, and Naomi. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Betty Jo is preceded in death by her father, Jim; her mother, Clara; her brother, Jimmy Pospisil; her sister, Rose Watkins; and her husband, Barrett Terrell. She also joins her brothers-in-law: Sherman Terrell, Gordon Terrell, Olan Walden, Ray Chastain, and Weldon Watkins as well as her sister-in-law Farrell Walden.
Betty Jo Terrell-Webb's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and community service. Her legacy will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched over the years. A visitation will be held on January 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The funeral service will follow on January 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist in Prague, Oklahoma, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life.
