Ashley "Greg" Gregory Courtney

July 3, 1984 — June 18, 2019

Ashley Gregory "Greg" Courtney, a resident of Shawnee OK, went to be with Jesus and his beloved grandmother Vera Courtney on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the age of 34 at SSM Health Hospital (St Anthony's) in Oklahoma City, OK.  Greg was born in Shawnee on July 3, 1984 to Lynette Hyde and Daniel Courtney.  He attended Shawnee High School and went on to work mostly in the Hospitality Industry.

Greg is survived by his parents; step-parents, Bob Hyde and Michelle Courtney; fiance, Leslie Shell; younger siblings, Stephen, David, Skylar and Kaitlin; a large and loving extended family and wonderful friends. Greg met Leslie in High School. He loved her very deeply and was totally dedicated to her from the very beginning. As a child, Greg loved Fraggle Rock, playing outside, riding his bike, boonie stomping in Guam and being an active member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  As he got older, he enjoyed history, all things paranormal, camping and hanging out with his great friend Jesse Nitz.  Greg's sense of humor was legendary, and he always loved to make people laugh.  He was loyal, loving, patriotic, and unfailingly dedicated to those he loved.

A funeral service for family and friends is scheduled for 10:00 am on Friday, June 28th at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee. Greg's uncle, Larry Courtney, will officiate.
