Alean Moore

February 12, 1930 — July 22, 2021

Alean Moore, age 91 of Shawnee, OK passed away from this life and entered into rest with Jesus Christ at McLoud Nursing Home Thursday evening, July 22, 2021. She was born February 12, 1930 to Willie and Annis Edrie Moore of Centrahoma, OK. She graduated from Centrahoma High School in 1948. She went on to attend Modeling School and Cosmetology School after graduation. She moved to Fort Smith, AR where she met and married Nick Hutchens in January 1955. She and Nick eventually divorced and did not have children. Alean moved to Ada, OK where she started her salon, owning and operating Coiffures by Alean for several years. She was offered a Cosmetology instructor position with Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore, OK. Alean sold her business in Ada, moved to Ardmore and taught cosmetology for 15 years. During that time she also received her BS degree at SOSU in Industrial Education. She also attended Crystal Rock Cathedral Church in Ardmore. Alean eventually retired and moved to Shawnee, OK. When Alean wasn't working she was spoiling her nieces and nephews. They have fond memories of her taking them on swimming trips to Devil's Den and Turner Falls, horseback riding, fishing, to the movies at the McSwain Theater in Ada and trips to their Granny Moore's in Centrahoma. When at Granny Moore's, Alean, along with her siblings Warren, Garwin and Letha, would round up other kids and adults in the neighborhood to play baseball. Alean also enjoyed cooking, canning, playing the piano, singing, dancing and sewing. Alean always looked and dressed so pretty and loved to wear colorful jewelry. Alean had a very sincere and close spiritual relationship with Jesus. She loved to share Jesus with her family, friends and anyone she met. She was proceeded in death by her older sister, Lula Jerldine Moore; parents, Willie and Edrie Moore; niece and nephew, Julia and Jerry Moore; brothers, Garwin and Warren Moore; youngest sister, Letha Whitlow and nephew, Mitch Whitlow. She is survived by her Aunt Patsy McDuffie, many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Alean will be remembered and missed by the many family and friends who loved her. Funeral services will be held under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Shawnee, OK. Visitation will be Monday, July 26th from 9 a.m. to Noon at Walker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at the Citra Cemetery in Allen, OK at 2 p.m. with Pastor Billy Nickell officiating.
