William Thomas Winfrey, 82, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Walker Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Kerbo officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Park Cemetery – Chandler, OK. William Thomas Winfrey was born August 23, 1933 in Oklahoma City, OK to Plen Elmer & Elizabeth Frances (Wiley) Winfrey. He attended school in Oklahoma City. He was a hard worker and was very motivated, starting with delivering papers at the age of 14. He retired after 30 years as a truck driver with Roadway Express. He was married to Alma Jean Winfrey. He served 4 years active duty, receiving an honorable discharge with the United States Marines. He enjoyed walking, traveling and vacations. He loved his family most of all. He enjoyed being by the water, playing musical instruments, singing and and rides with Jerry in his white Buick LaCrosse. He was a member of Church of God, Cross Connections church. He entertained people with his music and voice God gifted him with. Preceding him in death were his parents, several sisters and brothers, one daughter: Brenda Kay Winfrey and one son: David Randy Winfrey. He is survived by: Brother: Jimmy Winfrey Daughters: Carolyn Sue Earhart and Elizabeth Winfrey Son: William Thomas Winfrey, Jr. 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.
