Jenetta Sumner

Jenetta Large Sumner was born March 11, 1939 to Jewell and Nettie Large in McLoud, Oklahoma. Jenetta graduated from McLoud High School in 1957. Jenetta married Don Sumner on December 23, 1958. They had two children, Jennifer and Jeffrey. Jenetta was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey, her parents, a grandson: Derek Douglas, two brothers: Herb and Ernest Large. She is survived by her husband Don, daughter: Jennifer and husband Scott Douglas, one sister: Bonnie Kubiak, one brother: Fred Large, three grandsons: Tyler and Caleb Douglas and Drake Sumner, and three great grandchildren. Jenetta worked at St. Gregory’s College for 30 years as a secretary to the President and the last 17 years was responsible for St. Gregory’s Bookstore. She retired in 1997. A Wake Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee. Funeral Services will 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Don and Jenetta Sumner Fieldhouse on the campus of St. Gregory’s University. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Gregory's University to the Jenetta Sumner Scholarship Fund.
