Lou Eveline Leech

Lou Eveline (Hudson) Leech, 92, of Shawnee, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at her home.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 25 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with LaVerna Lou Thiemann and the Rev. Jeffrey Brock officiating.

Lou was born July 25, 1927 in Seminole County, Oklahoma to Roy and Effie (Mosley) Hudson.  She graduated from Vamoosa High School and was a homemaker.  On April 18, 1946 she married Neal David Leech, and together they enjoyed 73 years of marriage. She was a member of the Eastern Star from 1959 until death serving in all the stations.  She was a member of Shawnee Past Matrons Club from 1965 until her death.  Lou was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and loved to visit Bethel United Methodist Church in Bethel Acres.  She was an election worker for several years.  Lou served as a PTA president for several years. She worked with the Camp Fire Girls and the Boy Scouts.  She was very active in her family’s life.  She took care of many family members whenever they needed help.  Their daughter, LaVerna Lou Leech, was born on February 13, 1948, and their son, Neal David Leech was born on February 6, 1952.  Lou dearly loved her husband, Neal, and she loved all of her family.  She was the eldest of nine brothers and sisters.  She was so proud of her grandson and his wife, David and Janice Thiemann; her granddaughter, Kelli Nicole Leech and her three great-grandchildren, Robert Duncan, Jillian Rana and Isabelle Rose Thiemann.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Effie Hudson; her sister Bonita Burgess; her brothers, Ray Boyd and Jimmy Don Hudson, brothers-in-law, Kenneth Harrison and Jerry Brock; sister-in-law, Dawnell Hudson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Zesta Leech.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: LaVerna Lou & Robert Thiemann; her son and daughter-in-law, N. David & Billie Leech; grandson and his wife: Robert David & Janice Thiemann, granddaughter: Kelli Leech;  great-grandchildren: Robert Duncan, Jillian Rana and Isabelle Rose Thiemann; sisters, Jewel Dean Harrison, Norma Brock, and Leota and her husband Milburn Wilson; brothers, Arlie Hudson and Art Hudson and his wife Harriette; sisters-in-law Joan Hudson and Franksine Hudson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in Lou’s memory to Bethel United Methodist Church, 35500 Hardesty Rd., Shawnee, OK 74801.  Her family thanks Angelic Hospice Care for their loving help.
